I, myself, am gender fluid and have a preference for girls. I understand the need for belonging and acceptance. I've been going to camp since I was twelve years old. It became my safe place, my second home. I can be myself there; my complete, utter, whole self. I want to make sure every child has that kind of opportunity no matter their situation. Camp has played a huge role in helping shape who I am. Camp is where I met my first girl crush, and camp is where I learned it was ok. We need more of that. More friendship, more kindness. If everyone in the world went to camp for at least three summers of their life, there would be no wars, there would be no hate, no discrimination. We would all be happy.
